About the Department

The Office of Victim Services (OVS):

  1. Seeks to elevate the status of victims and their rights.
  2. Serves as a central reference point for victims of crime, and offers information and referrals.
  3. Provides training and information for those who work with victims, including law enforcement, victim advocates, probation and parole workers, and local community organizations.

The laws protecting victims are found in Title 40, Chapter 15 of the Montana Code Annotated.

Domestic and Sexual Violence Services (DSVS) serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in Carbon and Stillwater County. If you or someone you know is in an abusive situation, please call the 24-hour helpline at 406-425-2222 for free and confidential assistance.
